IN our weekly online column, ALINA POLIANSKAYA finds out who's wearing what in Camden Town this week:
Fedrica Salvadi, 22, from Stoke Newington, is wearing a long khaki printed jacket from Zara, a wide-brimmed black hat, skinny black trousers and some Italian boots. Miss Salvadi, who is originally from Italy but working in London to improve her English, says she loves to mix up vintage and modern bits and pieces.
Aarron Beezee, 27, a musician whose songs are like “a mixture between Kanye West, ASAP Rocky and Tinie Tempah” describes his look as “high-end street chic”. Mr Beezee, who recently moved from north to east London, stands out in his bright Versace jacket, black leopard-print trousers from H & M, a Pull & Bear T-shirt and black Gucci trainers, along with a custom-made ostrich skin hat.
Ludovica Siniscalchi, 20, a biotechnology student from Wembley, is wearing a vibrant coral shirt from Urban Outfitters, with black tights and red Dr Martins boots, accessorised with a brown leather bag from Italy and a chunky gold chain. But the stylish student doesn’t get the most positive fashion feedback from her friends who she is out shopping with in Camden Town – they describe her look as “funny”.
Ana Dias’s relaxed yet quirky style is made up of canvas shoes and patent leggings from Primark, a dress with a roaring tiger on it from H& M, a denim jacket from Benetton, a silver necklace, all topped off with a woolly grey hat. Though the sun may not have been out, the 29-year-old nurse couldn’t help putting on the new heart-shaped shades she had just bought from H & M.
Valentina Vasilatou, who lives in Euston, is wearing an old black t-shirt which she transformed into a skirt, a long sleeved red top from Zara, a black cardigan from Rouge, and some chunky black boots from Stratford. The 20-year-old, who is studying costume design at Central St Martins College, only got her hair braided the night before, and although “it hurt so much [she] couldn’t sleep”, she was very pleased with the final look.
Hilary Tool, 25, originally from San Francisco, is wearing a monochrome Kenzie dress from Macy's, a pink Nordstrom blazer, Macy's boots and a blue leather Brahmin handbag, which she calls an “essential”. Ms Tool, who is studying and interning at a restaurant business, said: “I dress better than most Americans to be honest, so I think I fit in better with London style.”
